The story of Scum takes place in a Mediterranean inspired island. There 64 players per server try to survive. Also they want to get off the island by removing the implant firstly which stops them from leaving. All of them are prisons in a supermax prison. In the same time, they are contestants on a reality-style TV program. It is produced by the fictional TEC1 megacorp, who pit them against each other in a high-stakes.
