Robotfindskitten Mac Os Catalina

Fri Jan 13 2006 21:56 PST robot gone wild: Today I learned from a robotfindskitten user that there appears to be a bug in Python's curses interface to Mac OS X. It seems you can't hide the cursor on a Mac terminal with cursset. Calling it returns ERR, and Python's curses.wrapper can't handle the ERR. Has anyone else experienced this? robotfindskitten is a thrilling journey into the life of a robotic kitten-finder. It's also a weird ASCII graphics ... thing. You play the role of a robot, and the goal is to touch various ambiguous objects (ASCII characters) until you find the one that has been designated the 'kitten' for that particular level. It's not exactly deep ... more of a toy than a game. But it's oddly charming, perhaps a zen-like experience, which has been ported to dozens of different operating systems. The source code is also available.

And, erm, 'robotfindskitten'. Emerge it, it's wierd.
Gaming on linux is definately worth it, if you're willing to put the time in to get those Cedega games working. It's getting much better, especially with the new games database setting it up for you.
Native games all work straight out of the box, albeit with some small sound issues from all the ID games. Simple one-line fix though.
Oh, and I do pay for my cedega This is the company that made it possible for me to switch completely, back with WineX some years ago. They are most welcome to take my £3 a month. Try the CVS version if you wanna give it a go, or even use plain Wine for Farcry and Warcraft.
